Oh, Venom...that's not...
I saw Venom 3: The Last Dance.
You don't watch the Venom movies for the plot. You watch the Venom movies because you want to be entertained, laugh, and maybe see some decent fight scenes. Those were my expectations! While the second film was a trainwreck, it was at least fun.
This movie felt like they asked Chat GPT to write it, which seems very likely (I mean, the main villain looked AI-generated).

You could tell everyone just wanted to finish the trilogy.
To summarize, Knull (the creator of the symbiotes) is imprisoned on a planet. He wants to kill Venom because he has the "core", which is the key to his jail cell. The reason Venom has this "core" is because he saved Eddie's life in the first movie.
The story begins in Mexico. The duo decides to go to New York but ends up in Las Vegas for the rest of the movie. Venom goes "I want to see the Statue of Liberty" and since they are wanted fugitives Eddie just goes "Okay, bet."
They introduce several side characters and none of them impact the story in any way. The only character that made the movie worth it, besides Venom, was Ms. Chen. I love how they included her and not the main love interest from the other two movies. One intriguing aspect of the movie is that the Alien Monster chasing them can only see the core when Venom is inhabiting Eddie. So as long as Venom doesn't come out, Eddie is fine (also helps save their budget?).
The craziest part is when they kill Venom! By far one of the most disrespectful on-screen deaths I've ever seen.
Venom takes over the body of some of the aliens Knull sent, puts a shield on Eddie, and then POURS ACID ON HIMSELF? Eddie just watches and does not even shed a single tear. He should have been in tears and banging on the shield since they literally can't live without each other.
The movie ends with Eddie walking through the streets of New York, thinking about Venom. Then, a VEDDIE edit shows up on-screen to the song Memories by Maroon Five. I wish I was kidding. I felt like I was being pranked. Punked? I just think it's kinda crazy to end a trilogy with an edit period. It's like if they decided to end Endgame with an edit of Thanos too What was I made for?
Memories came out in 2021, so I looked up other Pop Songs that came out in that year that I think would have been a better pick;

Does this not scream Venom x Eddie? I mean.
Hailey's Comet, by Billie Eilish.
Save Your Tears by The Weeknd
Okay, so maybe they wanted more "pop" and less "ballad." This is a still better pick.

Paradise by Psychic Fever
I can't believe I'm just finding out about Psychic Fever! I don't know much about them (yet), besides the fact that they are a Japanese boy group. I was scrolling on TikTok when I got an ad for their newest single Paradise, and have been obsessed with their music. I have yet to find a song from them I didn't like. I would recommend them if you like groups that can sing and rap.

I know this. You know this. The world knows this. It has an amazing soundtrack that is incredibly well-rounded. I'm still obsessed over the Twenty One Pilots performance of The Line at the 2024 Game Awards. Let's move on.
